Foreign Affairs Friday: Ready for a little mischief in Montreal?

My new book, Montreal Mischief, has cleared the editing process and is slated for publication soon! I don’t have an exact date yet, but here’s the sexy cover my publisher has come up with:

This is the first book in a new series, so I’ve been brainstorming a bunch of additional titles I want to write. All of the Foreign Affairs books will all be set in different cities around the world, and will feature different couples exploring their romantic relationships.

Of course, the big question is: Why did I decide to start with Montreal?

The answer is simple: I lived in the city for almost 10 years, and still miss its bohemian flair. I met my husband there, and we had a lot of good times exploring the city together.

There are lots of beautiful landmarks in Montreal, as well as some that my dirty mind couldn’t help but find kinky. I mean, who but a Canadian could name a restaurant the Beaver Club with a straight face? (Especially in a city like Montreal, where strip clubs dot the main drag!)

A popular romantic destination for couples in Montreal is a trip up the “mountain” that inspired the city’s name, Mount Royal. According to those who measure size, Mount Royal is either a large hill or a small mountain, with an elevation of 764 feet. Since there’s no universally accepted definition that indicates exactly how tall something must be to qualify as a mountain, most inhabitants simply go with the flow and refer to the large hill in the middle of the city with an iron cross on top as “The Mountain.” And, of course, any peaks seem to automatically instill ardor, so The Mountain is always a hot spot for couples kissing, holding hands, and getting quite frisky in the bushes, along with plenty of singles cruising the area for a chance to jump in on the action. (Pro tip: Bring a blanket, and watch out for poison ivy!)

I’ll have to leave the rest of the sexy sights to your imagination for now… but check back next week for another peek at some of the city’s sexiest spots.
