Christmas Spirit Read-a-Thon update #CSreadathon
Okay, so I’ve only read one of the books on my Christmas Spirit Read-a-Thon/Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge list thus far (check out my review of The Santa Claus Man here if you’re curious), but it’s still early. Only Wednesday! And with the Thanksgiving holidays, I should have plenty of time to procrastinate writing my NaNoWriMo novel by reading more books. (I am only sort of kidding…)
So here’s the updated list of books I plan to read:
[author_list style=”star”]
- I’m Dreaming of a Black Christmas by Lewis Black
- A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
Dashing Through the SnowThe Christmas Thief by Mary and Carol Higgins Clark (Dashing Through the Snow had already been checked out by the time I hit the library today, so I replaced it with another mother/daughter mystery from the Higgins Clarks)- Snowed Inn: A Holiday Short Story by Danielle Lee Zwissler
- The Three Kings: A Christmas Dating Story by Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez (I love Alisa’s breezy rom-com style, and nabbed this one when I noticed it was tagged as a Christmas book)
[/author_list]
While at the library, I also scored:
[author_list style=”plus”]
- Tell-All by Chuck Palahniuk (haven’t read one of Chuck’s books in ages, and this one sounded both fun and evil at the same time – to help balance out the potentially syrupy sweetness of my Christmas books)
- Zombie by Joyce Carol Oates (I’ve only read a couple of Joyce’s books, but one of my writer pals is a huge fan of hers, so I thought I’d give this slim volume about a sexual predator/serial killer a whirl)
[/author_list]
Kind of a Naughty vs. Nice theme I’ve got going on here, right?
And I still have to finish reading Dead White Guys so I can write a review for the Atticus Review!
So clearly, it’s time to get reading.
Et toi?
What are YOU reading this holiday season?
