About
Chief Creative Officer and travel writing enthusiast LAURA ROBERTS is the owner of Laura Roberts Creative Services, as well as the founder of the cheap-eats blog Shoestring Austin (and its predecessor Shoestring Montreal). She is currently a columnist for Gifted Travel, and is also wrangling words for the completion of her first guidebook, Naked Montreal, available exclusively via the Buttontapper.com store this spring. In addition to her copywriting experience, Laura is also a prolific blogger, occasional haiku writer, and percolating pulp fictionista.
TAPPING BUTTONS: THE STORY OF BUTTONTAPPER.COM
Laura has been writing online from an early age, with precocious beginnings as a 13-year-old enfant terrible of the BBS community. During her young adult years, she published a saucy magazine in alternating print and web formats and worked as a columnist for Hour.ca, finally making the transition to her present role as a cross-platform creative copywriter for hire. Whether she is creating original content or editing the work of others, her goal has always been to press people’s buttons with well-crafted copy and just the right dash of cheeky attitude. Using her chosen domain name, Buttontapper.com, Laura puts a new spin on the ancient art of freelance writing, acting as a button tapper in both a physical (key-pressing at the computer) and metaphorical (“pressing your buttons”) sense.
